CLAT 2025, the primary entrance test for India’s top NLUs and many private law colleges, was held on 1 December 2024 from 2 PM to 4 PM in a single slot across the country. As the clamouring aspirants poured out of their respective centres, one thing became clear—the difficulty level of CLAT 2025, much like CLAT 2024, was manageable. With most questions ranging from easy to moderate, CLAT 2025 will see cutoffs for top NLUs reach the higher end of the 90s. Continue reading the CLAT exam analysis 2025 to see what expert CLAT mentors from IMS thought of CLAT 2025. We’ll also include a snippet on expected cutoff scores and ranks for top NLUs to help you decide your course of action post-CLAT.
Out of the 26 NLUs across the country, 24 accept CLAT scores, making it India’s biggest law entrance. Over 60,000 students are expected to have taken the test, with competition for the few hundred seats in the top NLUs intensifying.
Our CLAT exam analysis 2025 showed that the paper was similar to last year, with few, if any, changes. The pattern remained largely the same, and so did the level and type of the questions.
As mentioned above, the paper’s overall difficulty level ranged from easy to moderate. There were a few tricky questions, but nothing that would rattle a well-prepared student.
