Difficulty level
The GATE 2024 paper on Electronics and Communication Engineering was moderately difficult. The questions asked in this paper were lengthy, requiring a lot of calculations. The questions are framed from the chapters on Linear Algebra, Vector calculus, Basis, Differential equations, and complex variables. The questions were a good mix of direct formula-based questions and application-based questions having moderate difficulty level.
3. Network Theory :
The questions are framed from the Nodal Analysis, Transient, and Network Theorems chapters. The questions were fact-based questions having moderate difficulty levels.
4. Signals Systems:
The questions are framed from the chapters on Convolution, Z Transform, and Fourier Transform. The questions asked were easy, direct, formula-based questions.
5. Control Systems:
The questions are framed from the chapters on frequency domain analysis, basics of control systems, time domain analysis, state space analysis, and stability analysis. The questions asked were a good mix of application-based, fact-based and formula-based questions having easy to moderate difficulty levels.
6. Digital Circuits:
The questions are framed from the chapters on Number Systems, Sequential circuits, and Multiplexer. The questions framed were easy, direct, formula-based questions.
7. Communication:
The questions are framed from the Entropy and amplitude Modulation chapters. The questions framed were easy formula-based questions.
8. Analog Electronics:
The questions are framed from the chapters on Op.amp, Oscillators, Mosfet, and Rectifiers. The questions were application-based questions having moderate difficulty levels.
9. Electronic Devices Circuits:
The questions are framed from the chapters on BJT, Mosfet, Semiconductors, and Moscap. The questions were theory-based questions having moderate difficulty levels.
10. Electromagnetic Theory
The questions are framed from the chapters on Electromagnetic Wave Propagation, Transmission Lines, and electrostatics. The questions were formula-based questions but lengthy having moderate difficulty levels.
11. COA
The questions are framed from the chapters on Instruction format. The questions were easy and were fact-based questions.
