The Consortium has announced the official details, including exam dates and application process dates, for CLAT 2025. The CLAT 2025 application form was released on the official website on July 15th. Students can fill out the common application form for all participating NLUs until October 15th, 2024. The official CLAT exam date has been chosen as December 1, 2024. The CLAT application form will remain open till 22nd October 2024.
CLAT is a national-level entrance exam for law programs in India, held annually by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The consortium released the CLAT 2025 application form on July 15th, 2024. The form is available online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Eligible candidates must complete the form and submit the fees before the CLAT registration’s last date, i.e., 22nd October. The correction window for the CLAT 2025 application may be provided in November, whereas admit cards will be issued around a week before the exam.
The Consortium of NLUs has released an official notification announcing the CLAT 2025 exam date. CLAT 2025 will be conducted on December 1, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm. “The Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities at its meeting held on April 26, 2024, decided that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 shall be conducted Sunday, December 1, 2024, 2 pm-4 pm,” it said.
No, the CLAT exam will be held only once in 2024. The scores of CLAT 2025 will be used for the academic year 2025-26. The CLAT exam used to be held in May; however, after its 2022 edition, it was shifted to December to avoid clashing with the board exams.

The consortium has announced a new executive committee for CLAT 2025 on February 18. Dilip Uikey, Vice-Chancellor of MNLU Mumbai, has been elected the Convenor for CLAT 2025. Whereas, V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor of HNLU, will be the President of the CLAT 2025, and Prof. S. Shantha Kumar, Director of GNLU, has been elected as the Vice-President of CLAT Consortium.
Candidates looking to appear for CLAT 2025 must meet the exam eligibility criteria prescribed by the NLU Consortium. The admission criteria for NLUs and CLAT eligibility are essentially the same. The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2025 are as follows;
Educational qualifications—Candidates must have passed Class 12th from a recognised board and institute. They must have scored at least 45% in their Class 12. SC and ST candidates are eligible with 40% in Class 12th.
The LLM CLAT is a postgraduate course. Candidates must have completed LLB graduation from a university recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). They must have scored at least 50% (45% for SC and ST candidates) in graduation.
The consortium has not set any age limit for appearing in the CLAT exam. Candidates can attempt the CLAT exam at any age or number of times.

The applications for CLAT 2025 will open tentatively in the first week of July 2024. The CLAT 2025 exam registration can be done online from the official website of consortium – consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
The CLAT registration fee is Rs. 4,000 for general candidates and Rs. 3,500 for SC and ST candidates. Candidates who need official CLAT previous year papers will have to pay Rs. 500 in addition to the application fee. However, in the last year, CLAT question papers are also provided by various other websites on the internet free of cost. The application process for CLAT 2025 is as follows;

The CLAT 2025 application form can be filled out in five steps. Candidates must ensure that they provide the correct details. Any discrepancy in the form may result in its rejection. Only certain modifications in the form will be allowed at a later stage. The detailed CLAT application process is explained below.
Fill out the application form by providing personal information. The personal information includes the candidate’s name, parent’s name, date of birth, passport-size photo, scanned signature, category, etc.
Provide communication details, including permanent address, correspondence address, state, district, PIN code, etc.
Enter details of Class 12th and Class 10th. Candidates appearing in the Class 12th board exam can select the “Appearing in Qualifying Exam.”
Candidates can select at least three exam centres for the CLAT exam. They are advised to select the CLAT 2025 exam centres in their order of preference. The allotment of exam centres will depend on the candidate’s preference and the availability of seats in the exam centre.
Select the reservation status depending on the category. Most NLUs offer domicile reservations. Candidates must ensure they have the documents supporting their reservation status, which will be required during CLAT counselling.
Submit the CLAT application form and pay the registration fee. The fee is Rs. 4,000 for general candidates and Rs. 3,500 for SC, ST, and EWS candidates.
