Ranked thirteenth by the NIRF, Delhi University is one of the most sought-after institutions in India. And that fact becomes even more apparent when you learn that DU received over 6.5 lakh applications last year alone. With 64 colleges under its banner, many of which are renowned globally, students from all walks of life flock to this university, pursuing various courses ranging from the pure sciences to humanities disciplines.
In an effort to standardise the ultra-competitive DU admission process, the University shifted from a merit-list-based approach to the CUET or Common University Entrance Test.
This shift has changed the various eligibility criteria that students need to fulfil to gain admission to their preferred course and college. In this blog, we’ve outlined the Delhi University eligibility criteria for CUET. It will help you decide the best mix of CUET subjects you must take while maximising your eventual percentile.
The first step to decoding the eligibility criteria is understanding how the exam pattern has evolved.

Important note – Admission preference will be given to students who opt to take the test in the specific language they wish to pursue. Only if seats still remain vacant will the candidates who chose any language be chosen.
